Graduates: If you have a family member that is graduating from high school or college, please let the office know, so we can include their name in the bulletin. Homecoming Party: Please join us in Parish Hall after the 9:30 service on May 18th, for a “Housewarming Party”! Holy Trinity is furnishing an apartment for a needy family through the Partners Arms Transitional Housing program and we need your help. Prayer Shawl Ministry: will host a Knit-in at the home of Jeanne Scott on Saturday, May 17 at 1:00 pm. All are welcome—knitting and crocheting lessons are free! For more information, please contact Arleen Dale Kirtland at 240-305-6514. United Thank Offering: Next Sunday, May 18th, will be the United Thank Offering Ingathering. Congregational Care Committee News: Just a reminder to please sign up to have a name tag made. You can pick up your name tag at the "Greeters Table" before each service. The Congregational Care Committee and the Evangelism Committee will hold a joint meeting this month on Sunday, April 20th at 9am in the Media Center. All are welcome! Thank you!— Karen Kalber and Eric Mauer. Rectory Update: The Rectory Restoration Group (usually a regular group of about 12 parishioners) has been active recently in consultation with an architect and with the Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission. Preliminary drawings of outside rectory improvements have been drafted and submitted to the Commission for comment. We hope to get approval of these ideas from the Commission in the immediate future. Once approved, then more definite details of the work to be done (inside and outside) need to be prepared in order to get cost estimates from construction firms. The congregation’s knowledge and input in this process is valued and important. The conceptual plans will be submitted to the congregation and to the Vestry for approval before building and funding plans would be authorized. It is important to remember that something needs to be done with the present rectory and we seem to have a unique opportunity to make an important improvement to the church property which will be a treasure for years to come at Holy Trinity. The Rectory Group will make an important presentation on its work at the annual meeting on Sunday, April 27th. Church Picture: Purchase Sherrill Bower's beautifully framed, limited edition print of Holy Trinity Church
for $150.00! $50 of your purchase is tax deductible. This photograph will be framed to the finished size of approximately
17.25 x 21.5 inches Healing Prayers: Each Sunday of the month lay Healing Ministers are available during Communion, to offer Healing Prayer with you. If you would like to request prayer, they will be available at the font at the rear of the church. If you are unable to go to the front, but would like Healing Prayer, let an usher know. You may leave Healing Prayer requests in the Prayer Box (triangular mailbox outside the church entrance). Healing Ministers check the box and honor those prayer slips. Bible Study: You are invited to join our weekly Bible Study for adults in Room 204 (next to nursery), 11:00-11:45. Our study guide is William Barclay’s Commentary on the Gospel of Mark. Ongoing Events Nursery: Located on the second floor of the Parish Hall building by the ramp on the right, is for infants through kindergarten from 9:15 am until 12:00 pm. Sunday School: Meets following the 9:30 service in the Lower School building. Visitors and new members are welcome. Please contact David or Donna Rand (301-858-0304) to find out where your child belongs. |
